MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday that 30 prospects will participate in the team’s annual development camp from July 7-12, at the Centre Sportif Candiac – Les 2 Glaces (10 Radisson, Candiac), on the South Shore of Montreal.

The Canadiens prospects will first take to the ice on Monday, July 7th, at 2:30 p.m. The development camp consists of on-ice sessions every morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the exception of Tuesday, July 8th when on-ice testings will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Off-ice conditioning sessions are also scheduled on a daily basis.

19 of the 30 players at camp are Canadiens draft selections, including four of the five players from the 2008 NHL Entry Draft held last June in Ottawa. The group also includes first round picks Ryan McDonagh, Max Pacioretty and David Fischer, defensemen Mathieu Carle, PK Subban and Yannick Weber, as well as forwards Benjamin Maxwell and Olivier Fortier.

I’m going to try my best to get to some of the development camp sessions and record some of the prospects in action as well as give some insight or scouting reports on the sessions.
Candiac isn’t exactly near my home but it will be worth the trip.
