BURLINGTON, ON. — Ryan Eardley of l’Ile Bizard Quebec, barely 17, is a high flying Varsity hockey player and junior at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.
After a successful ‘09-‘10 season with the highly regarded Lac St. Louis Lions in the Quebec Midget AAA hockey league -playing for a Provincial Championship and upsetting three teams on the way – Eardley decided to go the US prep school route and was offered an opportunity to play hockey at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.
As a Junior he is not only a powerhouse and disciplined athlete on the ice, he has also brought the same focus to the classroom maintaining a 90 per cent average while meeting and exceeding the demands of his academic, hockey and rigorous training schedules.
Eardley averaged over a point a game with the Brewster Bobcats, killed penalties and brought an uncompromising work ethic to the team. He also played for the Northern New England team in the 2010 Fall Prep school league. He led the team with 17 goals and 8 assists in only 12 games as a late addition to the roster.
A smart, fast, tough and determined forward, this kid is one to watch. He is a leader in the room and on the ice and is an equally effective and responsible defensive player as well. He is blessed with a high hockey IQ and possesses a lethal shot with a quick release while being extremely strong on his skates. Moving forward he would be a great NCAA acquisition. His disciplined and rigorous training regimen is reflected in everything he does. Take a look at his video where Ryan’s skills – number 24 – are showcased.
Is Ryan a budding NCAA player? A future pro? I would not bet against it!
