► Too late
- Prior to the Canadiens facing Dallas Alex Radulov spoke about weighing his free agency options last summer, saying, “To be honest with you, I wanted to stay. I wanted to stay and I really enjoyed to be there.”
- Radulov acknowledged that he was offered a five-year deal by the Canadiens as part of the negotiations through the season. “There was a three-year, a four-year, and a five-year offer in December, and the money was different for all three deals,” said Radulov but he preferred to focus on the Canadiens season.
- In the end, Marc Bergevin only presented a contract that matched Dallas’ offer with respect to dollars and term well after Radulov had accepted the deal from the Stars.
► The return?

► We’re talking about a rebuild
-
During Saturday’s HNIC intermission Nick Kypreos stated “We throw out the terms ‘rebuild,’ ‘reset,’ ‘retool,’ but there is a sense that Montreal will be leaning toward this.”
-
He went on to speak of Max Pacioretty and compared his situation in Montreal to Phil Kessel’s last year in Toronto.
► Lunch date
-
Max Pacioretty has been mending fences with Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur
-
Pacioretty would seem to be the first Canadiens player to set up a lunch date with Lafleur in hopes of gaining a better understanding of his position in Montreal as Captain.
“I just think it’s so important to be on the same page as the legends here,” Pacioretty said. “They know what it’s like to go through the ups and downs in this franchise, so it’s just really important for me and special for me to be on the same page as them.”
► Czech me out
- Jakub Jerabek received the call he wanted and joined the Canadiens in Nashville in time to dress for his first NHL game
- His first game was a very good outing for someone who had been travelling since 4:00 am. that same day. Jerabek had one shot on goal in 18 minutes of ice time, displaying sound defensive play and an aptitude to help create offence.
Jerabek disputera son premier match dans la LNH ce soir, à la place de Mete, confirme Julien.
Jerabek will play his first NHL game tonight, replacing Mete in the lineup.#GoHabsGo

► Gone Hollywood
- Torrey Mitchell is on the road to Hollywood after giving two solid seasons of work to his hometown team.
- Marc Bergevin received a conditional fifth round pick from Los Angeles in return for the Greenfield Park, Quebec native. The condition is that if the L.A. Kings make the playoffs, the pick becomes the Canadiens’ own fourth round pick that they traded in return for Dwight King at last year’s trade deadline.
