PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forward Andreas Engqvist has been assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.

In eight games with the Canadiens this season, Engqvist maintained a +1 plus/minus differential, recorded four blocked shots and five hits, while averaging 6:24 of ice time per game. The 6’01’’ and 201 lbs centre missed the Club’s last 10 games due to a lower-body injury suffered on November 14 against Buffalo.

Recalled from the Bulldogs for the second time this season on November 14, the 23-year old centre registered five points (3 goals and 2 assists) in seven games with Hamilton this season. One of his goals was scored on the powerplay. Engqvist added 11 shots on goal and displays a +2 plus/minus differential.

The Stockholm-born forward Engqvist signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on July 13, 2009.
