Game Preview by Sam Gerber
Last game: MTL 3  PHI  5

The Canadiens withstood the Flyers attack in the first period with great goaltending from Carey Price and solid defense from the Tomas Plekanec line. But Claude Giroux and Travis Konecny got the better of them. The Habs penalty-kill had a tough game.

For a complete recap: Habs Can’t Defend Philly’s Top Line

Players to watch

  • Kyle Turris
The former Senators center-man has fit it well in Nashville and should cause problems for the Habs defense.
  • Alexei Emelin
Emelin has been a favorite of coach Peter Laviolette bringing a physical game to the Preds defense that had been missing.
  • P.K. Subban
Subban is an extremely polarizing player but will certainly enjoy being in the spotlight in Montreal.

Keys to Victory

  • Be better when short-handed
The Canadiens are 25th on the penalty-kill this season. With the Predators power-play sitting at a lethal 23.5 percent, the Habs will have to defend well.
  • Manage emotions
With all of the emotion in the Bell Centre, players will have to maintain their focus.
  • Keep it close
This game has the potential of getting out of reach early.

 What to Expect
Prediction: Canadiens 3  Predators 4

The Predators have more depth, and more firepower, as well as the very flamboyant P.K Subban who will want to make a statement. If the Canadiens can capitalize on Subban mistakes, they have a chance at getting the win.
