MONTREAL, QC. — On Tuesday, the Montreal Canadiens announced that Finnish defenceman Otto Leskinen had been signed to a two-year, entry-level contract (2019-’20 and 2020-’21 seasons.)

The five-foot-11-inch, 187-pound defenceman had eight goals, 23 assists for 31 points in 57 games for KalPa Kuopio in the Finnish Liiga this past season. Leskinen finished tied for second on the team in assists and fourth in points.
The 22-year-old has played 178 games with Kuopio since 2015-16, recording 11 goals, 44 assists for 55 points.
Leskinen participated at the Canadiens development camp last June.
