Game Preview | |
A Look BackSam Montembeault was sharp early making 17 saves in a scoreless first period. Kaiden Guhle found Josh Anderson in front of the Arizona net who made a tremendous effort on his stomach to throw it to Cole Caufield for the first goal of the game just 49 seconds into the second period. Christian Dvorak scored his seventh goal of the season on a well placed shot from Arber Xhekaj. The Yotes scored a pair to send it to extra time. Mike Hoffman was the overtime hero for the second time this season netting his seventh goal of the year. Game Expectations |
Ball Arena in Denver sits 5,280 feet above sea level which makes the air thinner and creates issues for opposing teams. The Canadiens will have to keep their shifts short and make impacts in spurts to keep up with the offensively focused Avalanche.
Bottom LineThis will be the first time the Canadiens face off with the Avalanche since Artturri Lehkonen was traded from Montreal to Colorado in late March. Lehkonen will likely want to make a splash. The Habs need to bring their A-game against the current Cup champions.

You’re absolutely right! Marty St. Louis also said that the Canadiens do not have an equivalent player to Artturi Lehkonen in their organization.
