Tonight’s game was wild and sloppy, but thoroughly entertaining for Habs fans at the Bell Centre. Montreal came back from one-goal deficits three times in the match for the win. The unlikely hero for the Habs was Joel Armia who scored twice, giving him three goals in the last two contests. Armia, Evgenii Dadonov and Jake Evans was the Canadiens most consistent line tonight. Montreal’s top line finally got back on track with Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach and Nick Suzuki each contributing to the scoring summary. The matchup in goal featured the former goaltending tandem of Jake Allen and Jordan Binnington. This game was not a goalie clinic at either end. The Canadiens limited the Blues to just six high danger scoring chances throughout the match but Allen gave up four goals; Binnington was no better. Jordan Harris and Johnathan Kovacevic were the Canadiens best defence pairing by a wide margin. Chris Wideman had only nine minutes of ice-time yet led the team in giveaways with three. Tonight marked the 700th game for defenceman David Savard. Up NextThe Canadiens will be back at the Bell Centre on Monday night as they host the Seattle Kraken.Plus▲ Joel Armia, Jake Evans, Jordan Harris, Evgenii Dadonov, Kirby Dach, Nick Suzuki, Cole CaufieldMinus▼ Arber Xhekaj, Chris Wideman, Juraj Slafkovsky, Michael Pezzetta, Anthony Richard, Jake AllenGame PreviewCheck out the game preview here: Jordan vs Jake | PREVIEW: STL @ MTL |
