Unless the Boston-Montreal series goes seven games, it’s highly unlikely that Patrice Bergeron will see action against the Canadiens.
Yesterday, Bergeron visited Dr. Robert Cantu, the neurologist who has been monitoring his progress. Cantu did not clear Bergeron for game play. Bergeron is scheduled for a follow-up appointment with Cantu in approximately one week. Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for next Monday at the Bell Centre.
Bergeron remains cleared for full-contact practice.

Patrice Bergeron, who was not cleared for contact after meeting with neurologist Dr. Robert Cantu yesterday, acknowledged feeling disappointment after hearing the news.
“It’s disappointing,” Bergeron said. “I’d like to be out there helping the team and the guys. But obviously I’ve got to listen to the doctors and do what’s best for me.”
Since being cleared for full-contact practice, Bergeron has only gone through two full-length sessions. Bergeron has not suffered any setbacks nor symptoms while going through full-contact practice.
“They wanted me to have more practices before getting out there,” said Bergeron. “It’s the doctors’ decision. It’s nothing I can control. I’ve just got to continue working hard and feeling better.”

I’m glad to hear a voice of reasoning from Dr. Cantu and good news for Patrice Bergeron recovery. There is no reason to rush Bergeron into game action especially with the amount of hitting in this series.
Bottomline, his long term health recovery is the only concern to be considered in this matter regardless whether the Bruins need him to advance past the Canadiens.
