NHL.com:

NHL Central Scouting’s Chris Edwards (on Shawn Lalonde):

“He’s a really mobile defenseman. He needs to get stronger — he’s a little bit on the lighter side right now, but he has willingness to battle and he’s very competitive. He jumps up into the rush well in a support role and has good puck skills. He needs to be a little more consistent through 60 minutes, but he has a good upside, with his skating and mobility being his biggest assets.”

Belleville Bulls GM and head coach George Burnett:

“Shawn is a highly skilled defenseman who is maturing steadily both physically and mentally. He also possesses an outstanding skating ability.”

I have been trying to balance our coverage of the Montreal Canadiens, everything associated with the organization and the NHL over the entire season.

There are moments during and after the season when it can get really busy: NHL trade deadline, playoffs (NHL, AHL, ECHL and CHL), NHL draft, UFA deadline and training camps for all three pro levels………………you get my point!!!!

All that to simply say that we will occasionally miss some things. Some readers may wonder why I have been posting or writing about the Canadiens prospects or the upcoming 2008 NHL draft during the Stanley Cup finals. The answer is simple……I have always been interested in player development and feel there isn’t enough information on the internet (with the exception of Hockey’s Future and Habprospects) about Montreal Canadiens prospects and prospects in general.

I intially started All Habs to give Habs/hockey fans information concerning their future stars, then one thing led to another and here we are covering everything about Les Habitants and hockey.

Anyhow, keep checking All Habs for any information about draft eligible players, the upcoming 2008 NHL draft and even scouting reports to keep you well informed about the draft.
