Corus Sports citing CKAC radio in Montreal reports the Canadiens have re-signed forward Maxim Lapierre to a two-year contract. Financial terms haven’t been disclosed. Lapierre was eligible for RFA status in July.

If the signing of Maxim Lapierre is true, then it’s good news and is a sign of things to come for the Canadiens RFAs. Bob Gainey isn’t wasting any time and will hopefully lock up all his RFAs within the next week or so.
