The Fourth Period: Hossa’s agent shoots down reports………read more

I still find it hard to believe that Marian Hossa and Rich Winter are willing to leave money on the table (anywhere between $1-$3 million) even to play with a great player like Sidney Crosby.
Hossa could easily get $9-$10 million per year from a contending team after a bidding war is finished, especially with such a weak UFA market pool.
Ray Shero and the Penguins organization are under immense pressure to get Hossa signed after giving up so much in the trade with Atlanta. Can you imagine losing not only Hossa and Dupuis but also Armstrong, Esposito, Christensen and a solid prospect from the 2008 draft.
There is a great possibility of this scenario happening and regardless how talented or young the Penguins might still be without these players, they won’t be able to completely recover from this huge gamble without some sort of long term repercussions.
