Montreal Canadiens GM Bob Gainey is intent on signing an impact forward this summer and could be willing to pay up to $8 million per season on someone like Marian Hossa or Mats Sundin. While signing such a forward could mean losing defenseman Mark Streit to free agency, that appears a risk Gainey is willing to take.
