Post-game Chatter |
Coach Michel Therrien:
- “We had a good start. This is where we won the game. We were ready to play. We wanted to dictate the pace. We wanted to surprise them with our intensity. We got an early two goal lead.”
- “I thought we played really well in the first half of the game. The second half, I felt my team was missing some energy especially with the loss of Pacioretty. He’s an important player for us. He is filling a lot of roles. But when we had breakdowns, Carey Price was outstanding again tonight for us.”
- “It’s good for [Price], good for his confidence. Right now, I think Carey is in a good zone, his confidence, and he’s been really good since the beginning of the year but his last two performances, they were outstanding.”
- “It’s important to have depth. When we put Danny [Briere] on the fourth line we said that things could change quick and we had a good example tonight.
- “But on the other hand you don’t replace a Pacioretty because he has an important role. He’s playing the power-play, he’s playing penalty-killing, he has a big role on his line.”
- “The second half I could tell that this was the end of the road trip and the guys were missing some energy. We were on our heels a bit too much. But guys were blocking shots and when we got breakdowns, Carey did the job.”
- “David [Desharnais] was skating well , was competing. Him and Danny Briere, I thought they had their best games this year.”
