CANADIENS ASSIGN BLUNDEN TO BULLDOGS

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned forward Mike Blunden to the Bulldogs.

Blunden, 26, has recorded three points (two goals, one assist) and four penalty minutes in three games with Hamilton this season. The Toronto, Ontario native split last season between Hamilton and Montreal. In 54 regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 6’4”, 214-pound forward recorded 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) and 76 penalty minutes. In five regular season games with the Canadiens, Blunden recorded no points and four penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (43rd overall) in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Blunden has played six games with the Canadiens this season recording no points and five minutes in penalties.
