Carey Price earns Molson Cup honour for October

MONTREAL – Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of October (17 points). Price was the overall Molson Cup award winner for the 2012-13 season.
Price was selected five times as the first star of the game (on October 5 against Philadelphia, the 12 at Vancouver, the 15 in Winnipeg, the 17 against the Columbus and the 29 against Dallas), and once as the second star (October 19 against Nashville). Price finished ahead of teammates Tomas Plekanec and Michaël Bournival.
The 26-year old goaltender had a 6-5-0 record in 11 games in October, with a 2.02 goals against average. He stopped 338 of the 360 shots he faced for a .939 save percentage. He also added a shutout on October 15 against Winnipeg. Price earned his 150th NHL career win on October 24 against the Anaheim Ducks.
Carey Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to the Tuesday November 5 game against the St. Louis Blues at the Bell Centre.
