On this day in hockey history… 1943 – Herb Cain and Bill Cowley each scored a goal and two assists as Boston snapped Montreal rookie goalie Bill Durnan’s NHL-record 14-game unbeaten streak, with a 5-4 win over the Canadiens. It was Durnan’s first career loss after a 12-0-2 start.
