MONTREAL, QC. — This week the Canadiens play two at home before heading to New York for a home-and-home series against the Islanders. Last week the Habs went 0-1-1 with a shootout loss to Pittsburgh and a loss in regulation to Colorado.

Montreal Canadiens
  • The Habs (13-3-2) are coming off a 6-1 loss against Colorado last Saturday and start their week Monday against Vancouver. Montreal is still in first place in the Atlantic Division and tied for first in the league with Dallas and the Rangers with 28 points. They are 5-3-2 in their last ten games played.
Players to Watch
  • Tomas Plekanec. Plekanec has five points in his last four games and 17 points so far this season (9th).
  • Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty also has five points in his last four games and 68 shots this season (7th).
Strengths (+) Weaknesses (-)
  • Despite last Saturday’s 6-1 loss, the Canadiens have a strong defence and, as we already know, great goaltending, averaging just 2.11 goals against per game (2nd).
  • Montreal continues to struggle in the faceoff circle, winning only 50.1 per cent of the time.

  • The Canucks (7-6-5) are coming off a 4-2 loss against Toronto last Saturday and start their week Monday at Montreal. Vancouver is third in the Pacific Division and 16th in the league with 19 points. They are 4-4-2 in their last ten games played.

  • Daniel Sedin. Sedin has five points in his last three games and 16 points so far this season.
