• Team Red defeated Team White 5-2 in the third scrimmage of training camp on Sunday.

• Goal scorers for Team A: P-A Parenteau, David Desharnais, Rene Bourque, Jake Dowell, Nick Sorkin. For Team B: Gabriel Dumont (2).
• Showstopper: Jacob de la Rose displayed his skill and awareness carrying the puck to the net in traffic and dishing to Rene Bourque for a goal.
• The fourth line consisting of Brandon Prust, Manny Malhotra, and Dale Weise, seems to already have chemistry on the ice. Prust offers his input, “It’s a good line. We’ve been feeling it the last couple of days. We’ve been skating well and moving the puck around and getting some scoring chances and opportunities. We kind of have good chemistry right now, and we’re working hard and finding each other out there.”

►  Prust healthy and ready to play

• Forward, Brandon Prust, suffered a torn oblique muscle that only allowed him to play in fifty-two games this past regular season. He is back to full health and looking forward to the coming season, in which he plans to get right back into the swing of things while hopefully staying injury-free.
• “Last year was tough with injuries. I want to try and stay injury-free. Stuff happens, though. Some things you can’t control, but I want to get back to getting more ice time and being a bigger factor out there. I want to play well defensively, and get back to my game, the style that I’ve played for many years and for lots of different teams. Last year, I felt like I kind of got it going, then I got injured, then I got it back and got injured again. It was tough. I want to try and put in a full year, get my confidence going right away and start helping this team.” Prust shared with the Montreal Canadiens website on Sunday. You can see the full story here.
• Last season, in the combined regular and post-season (65 games), he put up six goals for a total of 15 points.
• He is best known for his grit and willingness to stand up for his teammates.

► Jiri Sekac hopeful

• Many teams were very interested in attaining Jiri Sekac, but he ultimately chose to be a part of the Montreal Canadiens organization. He continues to stress that he chose, “because of the gut feeling.” He seems confident that he made the right chose because he wants to play for the Canadiens.
• He also explains to media that the size difference between the ice surfaces in the KHL and the NHL are the most difficult part of the transition. However that’s not to say he isn’t transitioning smoothly, he is confident with the way he has been playing.

► Tom Gilbert is happy

• Tom Gilbert is glad to have a contract under his belt, but is still trying to prove himself at training camp. He has nothing but good things to say about playing in Canada and he has said that having people show up for training camp and for scrimmages makes it more fun and makes it feel much more like a game situation.
