Tuesday’s game between the Habs and Red Wings was played tightly, with the Canadiens trailing for most of the 60 minutes of play.  Passing was poor, and a significant number of turnovers and icing calls against the home team kept the Habs off the scoreboard until the final few minutes of the third period when Alex Galchenyuk potted a beauty of a wraparound goal.  Following that, it took just under a minute into the overtime frame for David Desharnais to seal the win for his team.  Final score: Canadiens, 2-1 (OT). After a few days of rest, the Canadiens took to the Bell Centre ice again on Saturday night following a poignant and emotional pre-game ceremony in Ottawa honouring the fallen Canadien soldiers from the attacks on Canada during the week.  The New York Rangers were in town for this matchup and the Habs welcomed them with a short-handed goal by Tomas Plekanec.  In the second period, Lars Eller fought hard in the crease to earn his first goal of the season.  Dale Weise fed a pass from behind the net to Max Pacioretty who put the puck past Henrik Lundqvist, giving the Habs a two-goal lead. Final score: Canadiens, 3-1. (Read our full recap here: Habs Continue Hot Start)

The Canadiens begin a western road trip Monday night when they travel to Edmonton to take on the Oilers.  Until then, we’ve got plenty of content to keep you busy reading about your favourite team! In case you missed them, here are a few fantastic articles published earlier this week:
