It was an emotional and poignant start to the Canadiens week on Tuesday night when the Habs took to the Bell Centre ice after a short ceremony honoring Jean Beliveau. It was business as usual during the first period against the Vancouver Canucks, however, when the Canadiens came up empty-handed in goal scoring yet again. In the second, Brendan Gallagher got the Habs on the board, with Tomas Plekanec and Max Pacioretty following suit in the third. Pacioretty’s empty-netter came with just under a second remaining in the game. Final score: Canadiens, 3-1 . (Read our full recap here: Habs Honour Beliveau With Win)
On Friday night, the Los Angeles Kings arrived in Montreal. On this night, the Habs offense seemed to be rejuvenated despite the fact that the team was utterly outplayed for the entire sixty minutes of ice time. Carey Price kept the Kings at bay, allowing P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov to each tally a power play goal. David Desharnais, Sven Andrighetto, and Jiri Sekac kept the scoring coming in the third period. Final score: Canadiens, 6-2. (Read our full recap here: Price Quells Kings Attack)
