MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Dalton Thrower to the ECHL’s Brampton Beast from the Bulldogs.

Thrower hasn’t skated in any games yet this season since being medically cleared to play and assigned by the Canadiens to the Bulldogs on Dec. 19.

In 285 career Western Hockey League regular season games with the Vancouver Giants and Saskatoon Blades from 2009 to 2014, the 21-year-old, first-year pro recorded 147 points (42 goals, 105 assists) and 414 penalty minutes. In 26 career WHL playoff games with Saskatoon, the Squamish, B.C. native recorded five points (two goals, three assists) and 23 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 215-pound defenceman served as captain of the Giants in 2013-14 and previously participated in the 2013 Memorial Cup with the Blades.

Thrower was selected by the Canadiens in the second round (51st overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
