► Montreal Canadiens: December 7
- After travelling back from Dallas, the players were given the day off on Sunday by coach Michel Therrien. The Habs will play the Canucks on Tuesday night.
- Forward Drayson Bowman was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

► Remembering Mr. Beliveau.
- The hockey world continues to mourn the loss of Mr. Jean Béliveau.

- Should you wish to pay your respects, he lies in state at the Bell Centre today and tomorrow from 10 am to 6 pm.
- For those who can’t make it to the Bell Centre, NHL.com’s Arpon Basu wrote, “As they walked down the stairs toward the Bell Centre floor, if people looked to their left they saw a single light shining on Seat 1, Row EE, Section 102, the seat three rows behind the Canadiens bench that Beliveau filled religiously for years, night in, night out, without fail. The regular upholstery on the backing of the seat, normally maroon, was replaced by Beliveau’s No. 4 jersey.”
- Basu also wrote that Beliveau’s wife, Elise shook the hand of each mourner who passed by the casket. You can read his piece here: Fans pay respect to late Beliveau at Bell Centre
► The enforcer retires.
- Former Montreal Canadien, George Parros, announced his retirement from the NHL on Friday.
- The 34 year-old enforcer played nine seasons in the National Hockey League as a part of five different teams. He played a total of 474 regular season games where he racked up 1092 penalty minutes.
- Parros thanked the Canadiens organization and his fans saying, “It’s been an honor to play in the greatest league in the world. Thanks to the organizations I’ve had the good fortune to play for, especially to the Samueli and Molson families. I’ve had the most amazing support from all of the fans who have supported my many endeavors throughout my career, for that I am eternally grateful. A final thank you to my parents Jim and Lynne, my wife Tiffany and my children who have made this dream of mine a reality.”
► First in first for ‘Ghetto.
- On Saturday night in the game against the Dallas Stars, Canadiens’ prospect, Sven Andrighetto, made his NHL debut. He also went on to score his first NHL goal.
- Andrighetto was drafted by the Canadiens in the third round of the 2013 entry draft.
► Slumping Desharnais.
- Canadiens’ centreman, David Desharnais, had undeniable chemistry with Max Pacioretty last season. This year however, Desharnais seems to be in a bit of a slump and can’t shake it.
- During the Canadiens’ 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Saturday night, Desharnais was demoted from the first line, down to the third. Then in the post-game interview, Michel Therrien had some not so kind things to say which seemed to be directed at least partially at Desharnais. Therrien told the press, “Well, there definitely are things I do not like and we made changes accordingly.”
► No more hockey for Hawkey this season.
- Canadiens’ prospect, Hayden Hawkey is a goaltender for the Omaha Lancers, a junior team in the United States hockey league. Hawkey recently sustained a season-ending knee injury. Hawkey was named the 2014 USHL Goaltender of the Year and drafted in the sixth round in last June’s NHL Entry draft.
► No.4 in downtown Montreal.
- The CIBC building in downtown Montreal paid tribute to Jean Beliveau on Saturday night with their office lights.
- CIBC CEO Victor Dodig said, “Mr. Béliveau was one of the game’s all-time great players but he was also a great man who touched the lives of so many across the province and Canada. Luc Grenier, a CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisor, suggested we display his iconic No. 4 on our office tower.”
