► Brisebois steps down

Arbitration dates on the horizon

  • Both P.K. Subban and Lars Eller have until their arbitration dates to sign a new deal before the hearings begin. Subban’s date is August 1st and Eller’s is July 25th.

► Jersey to be raised during Wild visit

  • Book your tickets! Guy Lapointe, Coordinator of Amateur Scouting for the Minnesota Wild, will have his jersey retired on Saturday, November 8th when the Wild visit the Bell Centre.

Bozon to play for French

  • Five months after his battle with meningitis, Tim Bozon announced via his Twitter account that he will play for the French National hockey team in just under two weeks time.

 Size at Habs kid’s camp

  • Mike McCarron is just one member of the Canadiens organization who has been taking part this week in the Montreal Canadiens Hockey School. It’s an instructional skills development program for Novice to Bantam level minor hockey players at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.
  • In just a few weeks, McCarron will highlight a list of 42 players, including highly-touted draft prospect Jack Eichel, invited to the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp, August 2-9 in Lake Placid.  The camp is to help determine the United States’ World Junior Championship roster. The World Juniors will be held in Montreal and Toronto from December 26th to January 5th.

► Links tourney for charity

  •  On July 29th, Brandon Prust will host the “Prusty 4 Kids” golf tournament to benefit the Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre. Canadiens P.K. Subban, Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi and Rene Bourque will be there as well as several other NHL players.

► Richmond welcomes Price

  • Canadiens goaltender Carey Price made a visit to the Richmond Olympic Oval on Sunday to sign autographs his cousin Keaton Ellerby, who spent last season as a defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets. The appearance was in support of Play4Life’s 4-on-4 Ball Hockey Tournament.

Vail at Canes Camp

  • Former Habs prospect Brady Vail is at the Development Camp of the Carolina Hurricanes this week as an invitee.  The Canadiens declined to sign Vail to an entry-level deal last month forfeiting his rights.

 Ducks ink Louis

  • After being traded from Montreal to Anaheim, the former 2009 1st round draft pick of the Canadiens, Louis Leblanc has found a new home in Anaheim.  Leblanc signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ducks  worth $550,000 ($67,500 if he plays in the AHL.) Anaheim hopes to deploy him at his natural centre position.

► Preds rescue Ribs

  • The Nashville Predators have decided to take a chance on former Habs centre Mike Ribeiro.  He was bought out by the Arizona Coyotes earlier this off-season due to behavioural issues. Ribeiro signed a one-year deal with Nashville worth $1.05 million annually.
