► Bergevin busy
- There’s talk around the league that Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin has been very busy working the phones trying to acquire a piece or two to help the team make a strong playoff run.
- On Monday Pierre Lebrun said, “I know that from talking to other teams around the league Marc Bergevin has been very busy just making sure what’s out there and what the asking price is. He has made a lot of phone calls and done his homework in terms of knowing when the time is right what exactly it’s going to cost and what he can get.”
- Also on Monday Darren Dreger said, “There’s a lot of buzz and noise around the Montreal Canadiens and has been for quite some time. But around the Montreal Canadiens, we’ve talked a lot this year about Marc Bergevin wanting to add another offensive piece. A top-6 player. I know that he’s had discussions with other clubs about a defensive swap as well.”
► Leadership roles
- All Habs writer, Shannon Penfound, breaks down the leadership roles on the Canadiens’ bench, “Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec, Max Pacioretty, and P.K. Subban currently share the responsibilities and pressures that come with donning a letter. But sometimes, the real leaders on the ice are the ones with no letter sewn onto their jersey.”
- There are so many leaders on the team both on and off the ice: Brandon Prust and Carey Price are among those without letters.
- On Sportsnet 590 The FAN, Renaud Lavoie of TVA said, “At the end of the day, the captain of the team is Carey Price.”
