► Monday Practice
- The following were the forward lines and defence pairings at practice on Monday morning.

► Price honoured
- Carey Price was named the recipient of the Molson Cup for the month of October. Price backed the team to seven wins throughout the month.
- Price earned more than the second and third place players combined, Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty.
► Draft record
- The Canadiens draft record has been one of the best in the league since Trevor Timmins took over the reins. In a recent interview he spoke about some of the highlights.
- Timmins called the trading of Ryan McDonagh to the Rangers as part of the deal to acquire Scott Gomez as a “punch in the stomach.”
- French-speaking fans and media roundly criticized Timmins for choosing Carey Price instead of Benoit Pouliot or Gilbert Brule. Timmins says that many in the scouting staff advocated for Marc Staal.
- His greatest point of satisfaction comes from players taken in 2007 including Max Pacioretty, P.K. Subban and Ryan McDonagh.
- But a Timmins-hating Facebook page sprung up representing francophone fans who would have preferred the selection of Angelo Esposito, David Perron and Kevin Veilleux in 2007.
- Timmins seems to concede that their selection would have been different in 2009 if the Draft was not held in Montreal. He said that they had interest in Chris Kreider but that Louis Leblanc was the best available product from Quebec. “Admittedly, the pressure to choose a player from Quebec was strong, not just from the fans, but from the entire organization.” Interpret that statement as new owner Geoff Molson.
- The Canadiens had taken an American with their two previous first round selections. Timmins said this of Leblanc over Kreider in 2009, “If we opted again for an American in the first round, we probably should get us out of the Bell Centre in garbage bags.”

► Markov’s tenure
- Canadiens defenseman, Andrei Markov, tied Guy Lapointe for 22nd on the team’s all time games played list with the game against Calgary on Sunday night.
- Markov signed a 3-year contract with the team in the offseason.
► Therrien moves up
- On Sunday night, Canadiens head coach, Michel Therrien, tied Lester Patrick for 50th on the NHL’s all time most games head coached list.
