Tomas Plekanec and Jeff Halpern will be re-evaluated today to determine if their lower body injuries will keep them out of the line-up. Wednesday’s call-ups Nigel Dawes and Aaron Palushaj will be waiting it the wings. If they get an opportunity to suit up for the Canadiens, Dawes will wear sweater No. 34 with Palushaj being assigned No. 51.

You would expect that the NHL disciplinarian who had recused himself from arbitrating the decision on Zdeno Chara‘s hit would be smart enough to know that he shouldn’t speak about it either. Colin Campbell went out of his way to say that fans and media from Montreal are too emotional to see the issue objectively.
Campbell strangely took aim at Pacioretty insinuating that he was no angel. Towing the we’re-not-to-blame party line, Campbell said that to make the game safer, the league should focus on changes to the boards and glass.

Pierre Groulx, the Montreal Canadiens goalie coach has been taking a different approach from his predecessor and it is paying off. While Rollie Melanson was accused of over-coaching, a one-size-fits-all solution and trying to change the goaltending style of Carey Price, Groulx has been has taken a less threatening approach. It’s less about ‘his way’ and more about simple drills to support the individual talents of Price and Alex Auld.
