► Juniors take 3-0 series lead: There was no scoring in this game until Trevor Parkes notched the winner for the Montreal Juniors with only 68 seconds left. Jean-François Bérubé turned away all 27 shots that he faced for his second shutout of the series.  Game 4 is today at the Metro Center in Halifax.

“We won tonight but we have to come tomorrow with the same mindset. The fourth one is the hardest one to get. We learned that last year. We got three wins against Gatineau and then couldn’t get the fourth one. All of us here want to finish this series off so we’ll be prepared for the next one.” — Trevor Parkes

Match Blue: Almost 14,000 fans filled the Pepsi Colisee on Tuesday night to watch the Atlanta Thrashers take on the Montreal Canadiens on the giant screen at center ice. The event was an initiative of a local radio station to show the support for NHL hockey in Quebec City. Supporters of a revival of the Quebec Nordiques have targeted the Thrashers and the New York Islanders as possible teams for transfer.

Help for ‘Dogs: The Hamilton Bulldogs have found help for their depleted lineup in the college ranks and inked the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Year. Paul Zanette, captain of the Niagara University Purple Eagles, signed a 10-day tryout contract and joined the Bulldogs this week. Zanette, a master’s degree student, had 29 goals and 26 assists for 55 points this season.

“I think I will do well. It is a different style of game than the college game. The pro game is a little more controlled… there are a lot more systems. Guys are bigger, stronger and faster. I just have to keep my cool up there and not try to do too much right away.” — Paul Zanette
