►UNB captures CIS University Cup: The #1-seeded University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds claimed their third title in five years by shutting out the #2 McGill Redmen on Sunday night by a count of 4-0. Among the champions is 2010 Canadiens’ development and rookie camp attendee Marc-Antoine Desnoyers, who began his season with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and Peoria Rivermen of the AHL before joining the V-Reds. He totaled a goal and four assists in 15 regular-season contests and two goals, two assists over the course of the playoffs.

► Sick bay: The Montreal Canadiens have 194 man-games lost (MGL) to injuries up to March 24. Though it may seem that the Habs are approaching a record, they only rank 17th in the league. The Canadiens have lost only half the number of man-games as the Colorado Avalanche, with the Avs placing a distant second to the league-leading New York Islanders at a whopping 512 MGL.
