Some sloppy play, questionable goaltending and lucky bounces ensured that, while not a masterpiece, it was an entertaining night of hockey at the Bell Centre. After their western road trip, the Canadiens returned to a full house at home. For the Kraken, it was their historic first ever visit to Montreal. The fans got their money’s worth treated to 60-minutes of hockey, a five-minute overtime period and a seven-round shootout. The game also marked the season debut for Joel Edmundson. The defenceman had a few rough moments but mostly fit in seamlessly once again with Jeff Petry. Edmundson had two shots on goal, six hits and was a plus-1 in over 16 minutes of icetime. Petry will likely be paired with Brett Kulak again on Sunday night as Edmundson will not play on back-to-back nights for now. Edmundson will instead meet with the Habs medical team for treatment at Brossard on Sunday while his teammates are south of the border. This was a low event hockey team with the Canadiens generating just six high danger scoring chances throughout the contest. Seattle managed just five. The Canadiens struggled mightily on special teams. They were unsuccessful in six power-play opportunities and gave up a shorthanded goal to Seattle (almost two on the same power-play.) It was another outstanding performance for Artturi Lehkonen who was making his presence known all over the ice. It’s unfortunate that Marty St. Louis didn’t give him an opportunity in the shootout ahead of, oh, let’s say, Michael Pezzetta. salut-bien chers amis allhabs,
bonne match de nouveau
excitant.river hockey eh!
thats okay.
some observations/quelques observations?
we can really fly eh!holy smoke.many of our players have that extra gear.speed to burn.nice to see.all these years of holding it back and playing somewhat conservatif et reserved.the players seem to have the permission to “ouvrir la machine”.
kulak, very impressed with his play.play-making abilities from the defence.we need that.
jake evans continues to impress match apres match.complete player.his best trait?composure,,,he does not panique.
pitlick up front can really fly too eh.head up,play-making abilities are primo!
chariot, petry, continue to play very well.edmundson played very well too last nite.like he did not miss a beat.add romanov, clague,et savard to the mixer and we have a pretty solid group of defence.and if our capitaine returns next season?
i think he will return.
(pitlick,kulak,clague,savard,romanov,edmundson,petry,chariot,shea,etc)
up front too.4 solid lines.good mix of youth et more veteranship.they can all fly!!!carey/jake allen return too.not a bad bench to have.C31 is not young no more.gotta try and win it in the next few seasons with him, non?
de tout facon,we’ll see what happens with our management
decisions upcoming?they seem to have a good handle on the pulse of our teamCH.
ps,seattle did not select CH31?because they must have known ahead of time that carey would not play for the season?
merci pour l’ecoute
bonne match a soir a philadelphie
familleCH,malgres le tout
guyCH10 soit toujours avec-nous en prieres et pensees
