It may sound repetitive, but tonight goals came from Montreal’s top line. Nick Suzuki led the way with two goals, Kirby Dach had three assists and Cole Caufield had a goal and an assist. The captain is now riding a four-game goal streak, a personal high. It was the first career three-point game for Dach. Kaiden Guhle was the Canadiens best defenceman, logging 22:35 and recording two assists. Guhle’s pinpoint pass through two sticks setup Juraj Slafkovsky for his third goal of the season. It was a tough night for Joel Edmundson playing his first game in the Bell Centre this season. Edmundson had a team-high eight recorded giveaways, leading to a breakaway and goals against. A badly-timed pinch led to another goal against. Josh Anderson was dismissed from the game with 9:52 left in the third period. For delivering a dangerous hit on Alex Pietrangelo, Anderson received a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct. Joel Armia achieved a milestone playing the 400th game of his career. The Canadiens lost to the NHL’s best team, but they scored four times and battled hard until the end. Up NextThe Canadiens will have a day off on Sunday and will then prepare to face the Red Wings in Detroit on Tuesday night.Plus▲ Kirby Dach, Kaiden Guhle, Nick Suzuki, Cole CaufieldMinus▼ Joel Edmundson, Jonathan Drouin, Arber Xhekaj, Josh Anderson, Christian Dvorak, Chris WidemanGame PreviewCheck out the game preview here: Knights at the Bell Centre | PREVIEW: VGK @ MTL |
