An excerpt from the Hamilton Spectator article by Scott Radley:
The youngsters on that championship team – perhaps with the exception of Price, though anyone who claims they expected him to perform as he did is lying – were expected to be complementary figures to the stars. They were able to step in and learn the pro game without the spotlight shining too brightly on them.
This year, the youngsters are going to have to carry the load in a far bigger way. The veteran core of Alex Henry, Mike Glumac, Matt D’Agostini, Shawn Belle, Chad Anderson, Ryan Flinn, Yanick Lehoux and Dan Jancevski combined for a mere 57 goals in 430 AHL games last season. Meaning the kids are going to have to step up and score right away or this season could be a long one.
