From the Hamilton Spectator article by Garry McKay:
Don’t look for Sean Avery to become a Hamilton Bulldog.
The Dallas Stars are still trying to figure out what to do with the troubled forward now that they’ve indicated that they don’t want him back on their NHL roster.
The Stars don’t have an AHL affiliate this year and have players scattered on teams through the league including two, Dan Jancevski and Tyler Shelast, with the Dogs.
There is no chance that Avery will be landing in the Steel City, however.
Bulldogs general manager Julien Brisebois says the Stars have not asked the Montreal Canadiens for permission to put Avery in Hamilton. And he says he’s not interested in having him here even if they did ask.
“The agreement we have with Dallas is for the two players that we currently have,” Brisebois said. “That doesn’t mean that they couldn’t ask us to take another player in Hamilton and if they did we would consider it. But we’re not interested in (Avery).”
