Excerpt from Sportsnet Patrick King’s article:
“We all know what’s at stake,” Bulls defenceman P.K. Subban said. “I think it’s going to be great when both worlds collide there on Wednesday and it’s going to be a great game.”
Habster:
Tonight’s game will be just a warm up for Friday’s semi-final rematch which will determine who plays the Spokane Chiefs. Yes , I realize the winning team will have the psychological playing edge and last change advantage but the real war begins on Friday night.
These two teams know each others game extremely well after playing each seven games in the OHL finals (plus 2 regular season games) so there isn’t anything to hide.
The tonight’s game will be televised on Sportsnet starting at 7:00 PM and should be fun to watch with two Canadiens prospects, P.K. Subban (#6 for the Belleville Bulls) and Yannick Weber (#5 for the Kitchener Rangers) playing prominent roles for their teams.
Draft eligible players to watch:
Another player to watch tonight will be Denmark’s speedy and offensively talented Mikkel Boedker who is currently ranked #7 by the ISS ( ISS Top 30 2008 prospects for May) for the 2008 NHL draft…….he can downright fly and has a terrific shot!!!!
Another player to keep an eye on will be smooth skating, solid two way defenseman Shawn Lalonde of the Belleville Bulls. He is projected to be drafted in the second round of the upcoming NHL draft and is presently ranked the #32 North American skater by CSS.
Belleville Bulls Goaltender, Mike Murphy will also get some much deserved attention in this year’s NHL draft after being undrafted in the 2007 draft. He had a solid season (36-7-3-1 with a league-best 2.24 GAA and .929 save percentage) and proved he is more than just a reflex and athletic type of goaltender as his success this season came from his strong positional play.
Note: As soon as the Stanley Cup finals are finished, I will be posting a lot of articles about the upcoming NHL draft and information about the prospects that will be available.
All Habs will keep you well informed about the very deep prospect pool with analysis concerning the top 100 prospects.
