MONTREAL, QC. — At the beginning of the 2013-14 season, many fans and pundits predicted that the Canadiens would be clawing for a playoff spot as the end of the regular season came to a close.  Riding the stellar

goaltending of Carey Price, the team finished fourth in the Eastern conference just one point back of the Tampa Bay Lightning, their first round playoff opponent.

While beating the Bolts in the first round can’t be considered a huge upset, completing the sweep definitely turned heads. By ousting the Boston Bruins, winner’s of the President’s Trophy, and earning a berth into the Eastern Conference Final, the Canadiens earned the respect of fans and rivals alike.
