Canadiens alumni and the Greatest NHL Stars to square off at “La Classique des Étoiles L’Équipeur”

MONTREAL – evenko is pleased to announce the addition of several members of the Montreal Canadiens hockey personnel, including Marc Bergevin, Scott Mellanby, Patrice BriseboisJean-Jacques Daigneault and Gerard Gallant and the members of the Hamilton Bulldogs coaching staff Sylvain Lefebvre and Donald Dufresne for the presentation of La Classique des Étoiles l’Équipeur featuring some of the top NHL players from the 80s and 90s who will face the Montreal Canadiens Alumni on Sunday, March 24, 2013 on the Bell Centre ice.

Hockey fans will have a unique opportunity to see firsthand over 20 Hall of Famers and several of the game’s greatest scorers and some of the Canadiens brightest stars of the past, including Denis SavardVincent DamphousseDonald Audette, and Chris Chelios who will be playing for head coach and all-time legend Guy Lafleur and assistant coach Yvon Lambert. The Canadiens Alumni roster will also feature Chris NilanGuy Carbonneau, Stéphane Richer, Steve Shutt, Sergio MomessoNormand DupontDave Morissette and Gilbert Delorme.

The All-Stars line-up is filled with some of the brightest NHL stars of the 80’s and 90’s, including Marcel Dionne, Michel Goulet, Bryan Trottier, Glenn Anderson and Peter Stastny. Together these six players recorded close to 5,000 points and over 2,000 goals throughout that decade. Not to be outdone, they will be joined by some of the game’s most exciting players of the 90’s including Eric Lindros, Raymond Bourque, Theoren Fleury, Luc Robitaille, and Mathieu Dandenault, with a combined total of over 1,400 goals and 3,800 points. Former NHLers Gary Leeman and Steven Finn have also been added to the All-Stars roster. Netminder Patrick Lalime will be between the pipes of the NHL All-Stars who will be coached by Michel Bergeron and Jacques Demers.

For this special game produced in collaboration with Les Productions Marc Verreault, all players with the All-Stars’ selection will be wearing their former team’s away jersey while the Canadiens Alumni will don the Canadiens traditional red home jersey. La Classique des étoiles l’Équipeur will be played on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 1 p.m. (doors will open at 11:30 a.m.) at the Bell Centre and part of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Montreal Canadiens Alumni and the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation.
