CANADIENS ASSIGN ERIC TANGRADI TO BULLDOGS
6-4, 221-pound forward has 15 penalty minutes in six games with Canadiens this season
Montreal Canadiens Press Release
MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned forward Eric Tangradi to the Bulldogs.
Tangradi has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In six games with Montreal, he has recorded 15 penalty minutes. In 11 games with Hamilton, the 6-4, 221-pound forward has recorded six points (two goals, four assists) and 18 penalty minutes.
In 142 career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets, the Philadelphia, Pa. native has recorded 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) and 84 penalty minutes. In 189 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs and Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins, the 25-year-old has recorded 127 points (62 goals, 65 assists) and 232 penalty minutes.
Tangradi was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round (42nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Canadiens acquired him from the Jets in exchange for goaltender Peter Budaj and forward Patrick Holland on Oct. 5, 2014.
I really liked what Tangradi brought to the Canadiens for sure.
I liked his physical presence & his ability to address the physical play down low when things needed to be sorted out out as far as physical play went.
In my opinion Bergevin should not pull the plug on Tangradi to soon as I think he could be a welcomed addition come playoff time when things get mean & nasty in the trenches.
What I have seen of Tangradi I feel he needs more ice time up with the Habs so he can gain his confidence back & be able to add even more as far as depth to the line-up.
