Canadiens Assign Michael Bournival to Hamilton

CANADIENS ASSIGN MICHAEL BOURNIVAL TO BULLDOGS
5-11, 195-pound forward has skated in two games with Canadiens this season

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned forward Michael Bournival to the Bulldogs.

Bournival has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In two games with Montreal, the 5-11, 195-pound forward has recorded no points or penalty minutes. In four games with Hamilton, he has recorded four points (one goal, three assists) and two penalty minutes.

In 62 career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, the Shawinigan, Que. native has recorded 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) and 18 penalty minutes. In 76 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 22-year-old has recorded 37 points (13 goals, 24 assists) and 30 penalty minutes.

Bournival was originally selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round (71st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The Canadiens acquired him from the Avalanche in exchange for defenceman Ryan O’Byrne on Nov. 11, 2010.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 5 when they’ll host the Toronto Marlies for Military Appreciation Night at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
