MONTREAL – Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of October (12 points). Price was the overall Molson Cup award winner for the 2014-15 season.

Price was selected three times as the first star of the game (on October 7 at Toronto, October 15 versus the New York Rangers and October 20 against St. Louis), earned the second star once (on October 24 against Toronto) and was a third star selection (on October 17 versus Detroit). Price finished ahead of teammates P.K. Subban and Max Pacioretty.

The 28-year old goaltender had a 7-2-0 record in nine games in October, with a 2.01 goals against average. He stopped 265 of the 283 shots he faced for a .936 save percentage. He led all NHL keepers during the first month of action with seven wins (tied with Devan Dubnyk). Price led the league netminders (tied with five others) with two shutouts (on October 15 against the Rangers and October 20 versus St. Louis). He was named the NHL First Star for the week ending October 18 with a 3-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals against average, a .963 save percentage and one shutout.

Carey Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to tonight’s game against the Winnipeg Jets at the Bell Centre.
