Habster:
After tomorrow night’s game against the Lightning, I would guess Guy Carbonneau’s buddy, Patrice Brisebois will be re-inserted in the lineup teamed up with Roman Hamrlik while the dynamic duos of Markov/Komisarek and Gorges/Bouillon are left in tact.
Speaking of Gorges/Bouillon, they have been very solid in their zone, head manning the puck quickly out the defensive zone with good decision making. They look comfortable with each other so it would be foolish to break them up as a defense pairing. I can see why Josh Gorge was playing 14-16 minutes per game with the San Jose Sharks before he was traded to Montreal. He has taken advantage of the ice time and is rewarding Gainey and Carbonneau with solid decisions with the puck (did you see the heads up pass off the boards to spring Ryder and Higgins on a pretty 2 on 1 goal against the Panthers).
Sometimes all it takes is a chance to play and show what you can do, Mr. Gorges certainly has opened some eyes…….here’s hoping the coaching staff has noticed!!!!
