Game Preview

A Look Back

It was a great game by the Habs that saw them take care of business and play with some great confidence. Carey Price was a big reason for the win stopping 34 of 36 shots, while Tyler Toffoli got a pair of goals to continue his team lead in scoring.

Players to Watch

  • Nick Suzuki
You know Suzuki will be looking to score in his 100th game in the NHL.
  • Josh Anderson
Anderson showed a moment of all out effort leading to the Habs first goal. If he and his teammates show that kind of determination every night they will do well.
  • Tomas Tatar
The Habs still need more from Tatar, Bergevin made comments in order to make a trade he will need to move a roster player, Tatar could be that guy if he doesn’t start scoring.

Keys to Victory

  • Get off to a good start
After a convincing win the Jets will be looking to respond, the Habs need to be ready and not let the Jets get the jump on them.
  • Outwork the opponent
The Habs managed to out work the Jets 5-on-5, a recipe for success. If the Habs continue that they should have no problem against the Jets again.
  • Win special teams
While the Habs played a great game, they gave up two power-play goals both by Kyle Connor. Habs have to be alert of him especially when killing penalties.

 Game Expectations
Most of the star players from the Jets were quiet last game and it’s expected they will have a response tonight.

Bottom Line

A regulation win by the Habs would put them one point back of the Jets and third in the division.
