CANADIENS RECALL GREG PATERYN FROM BULLDOGS
Defenceman has 15 points in 53 games with ‘Dogs this season

MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled defenceman Greg Pateryn from the Bulldogs.

Pateryn has split this season between the Canadiens and Bulldogs. In six games with Montreal, he has recorded two penalty minutes. In 53 games with Hamilton, he has recorded 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) and 56 penalty minutes.

In nine career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, the 6-2, 222-pound defenceman has recorded no points and two penalty minutes. In 160 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the Sterling Heights, Mich. native has recorded 61 points (25 goals, 36 assists) and 150 penalty minutes.

The 24-year-old was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round (128th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canadiens from the Maple Leafs along with a second-round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Mikhail Grabovski on July 3, 2008.

The Bulldogs will be back in action tonight when they’ll visit the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester, N.Y. at 7:05 p.m. Hamilton’s next home game is Sunday, March 15 when the club will host the Toronto Marlies at Bell Centre in Montreal, Que. at 1 p.m.
