CANADIENS RECALL GABRIEL DUMONT FROM BULLDOGS
‘Dogs captain has 27 points in 40 AHL games this season
MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled forward Gabriel Dumont from the Bulldogs.
In 40 games with Hamilton this season, Dumont has recorded 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) and 54 penalty minutes.
In 15 career National Hockey League regular season games with the Canadiens, the 5-10, 184-pound forward has recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and 13 penalty minutes. In 292 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the Ville Degelis, Que. native has recorded 136 points (65 goals, 71 assists) and 382 penalty minutes.
The 24-year-old was selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round (139th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In his fifth full season with the Bulldogs, Dumont was named the 13th captain in team history at the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 30 when they’ll visit the Iowa Wild at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa at 8 p.m. The ‘Dogs return home on Friday, Feb. 6 when they’ll host the Wild at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
