MONTREAL, QUE. – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Bulldogs.

In 26 games with Hamilton this season, MacDonald has a record of 10-9-6 with a 2.77 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

In 133 career NHL regular season games with the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders and Boston Bruins, the Pictou, N.S. native has a record of 44-61-15 with a 3.00 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and two shutouts. In 326 career AHL regular season games with the Bulldogs, Abbotsford Heat, Grand Rapids Griffins, Toronto Marlies, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, the 6-0, 197-pound goaltender has a record of 154-134-22 with a 2.63 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and 24 shutouts.

The Canadiens signed MacDonald as a free agent on July 1, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, April 17 when they’ll visit the Lake Erie Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio at 7:30 p.m. The ‘Dogs will return home for their final AHL regular season game on Fan Appreciation Night, Saturday, April 18, when they’ll host the Lake Erie Monsters at FirstOntario Centre at 7 p.m.
