Despite Playoff Miss, Canadiens Set To Host Several Marquee Matchups in April
After knocking off the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning last week, it’s safe to say that the Habs are relishing in their role as spoilers. There won’t be playoff hockey in Montreal this year, but fans still have an opportunity to support their Habs before their regular season ends.
The Habs have three games left on their schedule, two of which will be played against playoff hopefuls. Luckily, right winger Brendan Gallagher returned from injury on Saturday night, notching one goal on five shots. It was Gallagher’s first game in over a month–and his return is huge for the emotional and mental state of this team. Even with Gallagher back in the fold, Montreal dropped its most recent contest, a 4-3 decision in Florida to the Panthers. Florida scored two goals in the last eight minutes of the game to skate by with a victory. Montreal, however, will have an opportunity to seek revenge on its home ice on Tuesday night.
