Beaulieu signs a two year bridge deal at $1 million average annual value.

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Saturday that defenseman Nathan Beaulieu has agreed to terms on a two-year contract (2015-16 and 2016-2017).
Beaulieu, 22, played 64 regular season games with the Canadiens in 2014-15 recording one goal and eight assists for a total of nine points and served 45 penalty minutes. He also took part in eight games with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs, notching two goals and two assists along with nine penalty minutes. In the 2015 playoffs with the Canadiens he played five games recording three assists and two penalty minutes.
The Canadiens’ first selection (17th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the 6’1’’ and 201 lbs defenseman has played 87 regular season games in the NHL with the Canadiens scoring a goal and 12 assists for a total of 13 points. He was also assessed 53 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he has played 12 games and tallied three helpers and served two penalty minutes.
