MONTREAL – Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of October. Price, who was the overall Molson Cup recipient in 2008-09, was also awarded the Molson Cup in October and November of the 2009-10 season.

Price collected 3,520 fan votes in the Molson Cup standings for October. He was selected once as the first star of the game (Oct. 15 at Buffalo), thrice as the second star (Oct. 9 at Pittsburgh, Oct. 13 against Tampa Bay and Oct. 23 at Ottawa), and twice as the third star (Oct. 21 against New Jersey and Oct. 27 against the New York Islanders). Price finished ahead of teammates Tomas Plekanec (2,757 votes) and Andrei Kostitsyn (2,237 votes).

The 23 year-old netminder had a 6-3-1 record in 10 games in October, with a 2.38 goals against average. He also stopped 248 of the 272 he faced for a .912 save percentage. The goaltender also earned his fifth career shutout on October 23 at Ottawa and registered an assist on October 27 against the New York Islanders.

Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a pre-game ceremony prior to the November 9 game against the Vancouver Canucks at the Bell Centre.
