Checking in with Greg Pateryn at University of Michigan

Here’s an excerpt from the University of Michigan article about Habs prospect Greg Pateryn:

On being traded by Toronto to Montreal… “Six days [after the draft], I got a call at eight in the morning and I was driving my dad to drop off at a rental car. We get a call from the director of player development in Toronto and he called me and said, ‘You’re traded already.’ I was like, ‘Alright, to whom?’ He said Montreal. That’s the part that wasn’t too surprising because they showed a lot of interest in me and I felt like they really liked me. Montreal has been great so far.”

On Montreal’s development camp during the summer… “This year they had a shooting instructor where he worked on a lot of our shooting. We did a lot of skating, plyometrics, and we did this skating testing for speed and agility. All of this body composition testing and then only one day did we play three-on-three. It was Quebec and Minnesota players on one team against the rest of the world.”
