Canadiens acquire goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Nashville Predators

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Wednesday the acquisition of goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Nashville Predators, in exchange for future considerations. He was assigned to the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
In 173 NHL career games with Edmonton and Nashville Dubnyk has a record of 61 wins, 77 losses and 22 overtime losses. Eight of his wins were shutouts. He has a 2.90 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
Dubnyk, who hails from Regina, was the Oilers’ first round selection, 14th overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. A product of the WHL’s Blazers Kamloops he maintained a 83-87-14 record in 192 regular-season contests at the junior level from 2001 to 2006. He recorded 15 shutouts, a 2.69 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
