The game was filled with good opportunities and plenty of mistakes on both sides in the type of match you might expect given the inexperience. It was a mostly back and forth affair. The Canadiens led after the opening 20 minutes with Brendan Gallagher scoring his second goal of the season. Buffalo dominated most of the middle frame with the Canadiens coming to life in the last two minutes of the period. And the third was a wide open track meet with the teams combining for 32 shots. Kaiden Guhle scored his first career NHL goal. And Josh Anderson scored the game-winner with less than four minutes left. Montreal picked up their first win on the road for the 2022-’23 season. Up NextThe Canadiens will be in St. Louis to face the Blues on Saturday night.
